ABOUT ABOUT

As many of our followers are already aware, this fall the Adirondack Shakespeare Company was faced with a challenge. While en route to company housing on the first day of the fall contract, a car filled with our beloved actors was struck in a head on collision. While most injuries sustained were minor, our very own Sean Lounsbury suffered a depressed skull fracture, resulting in emergency brain surgery and a titanium plate permanently supporting his skull. This accident was traumatic for all involved, but the fall company chose to go on, dedicating the season to Sean's recovery. Sean, now lovingly called the Titanium Cranium, was unable to participate and we missed him dearly.

This one-off performance of Hamlet is not only an opportunity for our NYC community to experience our work, but also for Sean to be able to perform a role he worked so very hard to prepare. The proceeds from this performance will help alleviate Sean's recovery costs. We hope to see you there as we celebrate the union of this cast, Sean's intended full recovery, and the first time he will step on a stage since his surgery. Our ADK community will be very excited to catch Sean on our home stages this Autumn playing the title role of Hamlet, so if you can't make it down to NYC in January, you can definitely catch him in October playing the Prince himself!
